The tempature of the cave is the average yearly ambient temperature. So it's always 55 degrees whether it's - 30 or 90 degrees.. If you went to a cave in Arizona thier caves are warmer like 70 for example..
They open when the temperatures are above a certain amount but I think it's 60° because otherwise inside the cave would be in the thirties because you're going down quite a ways. We went to Crystal Caves last year in this summer and it was actually 54 200 feet down and they said to bring a sweatshirt so just be advised. It's really sloppy wet inside there too because the cave has Natural Springs so some of the water runs down the side of the caves.
