You can also take your dogs to the beach now. It is a pilot program and they haven't yet taken done the no dogs allowed signs.

I’m here right now and I’ve seen 3 different dogs on the beach just today of my 5 day camping trip. There are no lifeguards so it’s a matter of someone calling the DNR people to complain. At least the people I witnessed today cleaned up after their dogs as they messed on the beach.

Camping yes. Although it is a dog free beach. (There's a dog friendly beach about 10 mins north by car) Hiking dogs are allowed on leash. No off leash area (legally).
Here's the rule from the park website: Animals and Pets: Pets must be kept on a 6-foot leash. Animals must never be left unattended. Please clean up after your animals. Pets not allowed on the designated swim area beach.
