I can't find good information on what "half day" vs "full day" float means. Is it 4 vs 8h? Or something else?

I believe they say it by miles because that's where they pick you up. And yes, they give you plenty of time to float the river pull over to explore, eat etc.... The 8 mile float took us about 7 hours.

This time of year the half day is a 5 mile float while the full day is an 8 mile. Both float trips start at Riverfront and we bring you back.

It's based on miles. For a full day it's up to 8 miles and for a half its 4 to 5 miles. Even if you pick the shorter distance it depends on how many times you stop on how long it takes.
