Great place. We didn't camp but we have used their float trips several times. Great and easy check in. Fun and friendly environment. The main store has everything you forgot for your float.

Nice campground. Most of the RV sites are concrete pads. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great time floating down the river. My only complaint and reason for four stars instead of five is... Lots of people driving around the campground fast. Everyone needs to slow down and a speed limit needs to be enforced.

I have been here 5 times in the last 2 years. Loved the place! Awesome floating and facilities til this past weekend! I called to reserve a 8- person raft on Tuesday last week they were out so I reserved a 4-person and a 6-person due to having 7 people going. Unfortunately we had 1 person get covid and something came up with another. I called to cancel the 4-person raft since there was only 5 people going. They informed me they wouldn’t refund my $75 deposit due to me canceling inside the week! I asked if they would roll the deposit to the 6 person raft and they said they couldn’t do that either.

We stayed in the Little Niangua cabin which had comfortable beds and everything we needed kitchen-wise. It is sandwiched between another cabin and a campsite so there wasn't any sense of privacy outside the cabin. We got boxed in because the neighbors did not keep the pull thru roadway clear. I had to interrupt them to ask them to move a vehicle so we could get out. That was a little strange. It was my first time staying at a private campground so I was going by the reviews and pictures online. We paid for shuttle service for our kayaks and they forgot to bring them (and a canoe for another couple) so we had to wait for them to bring them over delaying our start. Our time on the river was just okay. There is a place with two downed trees so plan for a small portage. I learned after the fact that it was a known hazard. I would have been good to know about that ahead of time. There were several strainers that were easy to avoid in a kayak but I'm not sure it would be so easy in a tube or raft. The beach areas are small but pleasant and the water was great. The shower house was clean and the hot water was actually hot. The campground in general lacks trees. There are many large fields and gravel roads for camping but limited shade. Porta-John's dot the landscape so there is usually a toilet nearby. I would not say it is a place to go to enjoy nature. It is a decent home base if you're planning to spend the day on the river or at Bennet Springs. I would not recommend the float from Moon Valley to Riverfront. People did not follow basic safety rules, and the river was super slow. Locals said that floats lower down the river are better.

No, we do not. Sorry
They do have tandem kayaks. Try calling just to make sure they don’t have kids kayaks.
We do allow customers to bring their own tubes, but they have to rent something from Riverfront such as a canoe, kayak, or raft. The individuals who do bring their own tubes are charged a $10.00 transportation fee.
No there are no hiking trails, but it is a nice place just to take walks. You can also walk by the river.
I believe they say it by miles because that's where they pick you up. And yes, they give you plenty of time to float the river pull over to explore, eat etc.... The 8 mile float took us about 7 hours.
$40-$45/canoe depending on what type you choose. That includes everything including all fees and shuttle.
I'm not sure, you can call them and find out. They are very friendly people and it's a nice place.
No but they are pretty close. You are going to have to walk a bit.
I've been going there off and on for 15+ years. Prefer to go mid to late June, better water levels and not so hot. Also recommend doing the upper float where you bus up and float to camp. The lower float past NRO gets pretty busy and crowded, plus the water gets a lot cooler once you go past where Bennett Spring merges in. Upper is much more relaxing!
