We stayed at the Savanah Inn Bed and Breakfast. Our room was on a back street but it was very big, clean and nice. We'll stay there again. It is also on the very back side of the old city and we walked everywhere we went because we wanted to. We toured on the trolley as well from the visitor center.
Stay downtown. You can walk every where. Take the trolley tour all the way around, then you can get on and off all day.
Its a great place to go and see all ,and yes ride the trolley ,and go to a store there and pick up a discount book for hotels
If you have an rv, stay for cheap in the parking lot of the visitors center!
Stay at one of our haunted hotels-Marshall House, Hamilton Turner Inn or 1790s Inn. Take a ghost tour that combines history and folklore. The best Ghost tours are given by Ghost City.
Lots of bed & breakfast places, too! Definitely take a trolley tour.
We stayed at the Marriott directly across the street from the visitor center conveniently located at a trolley stop and free bus stop
Make reservations, if you can, for The Gray. It's a popular spot. There is a website for Savannah tourism...definitely check it out for all the great things to see! And you can order your trolley tours at a discount, then either print your tickets or get etickets from the site as well. I like to stay in historic VRBOs; however, The Bohemian or the Hilton right on the river are amazing options.
