Nice history museum for Savannah. Lots of old military uniforms and artifacts, an old train engine, an exhibit about the Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Lowe, Johnny Mercer's Grammy and Oscar.

Great for RVers! They hv designated RV and larger motor coach parking. If you’re towing, there’s a space or two that won’t require you to back out. FREE parking on Sundays, otherwise their sign says $20/day. The visitors Center is clean, informative, and has a couple shops, a museum and a place to “grab n go” (order/buy food). Catch the tour trollys here too! We rode bikes from the Visitor Center into town, nice ride, parks, lots of places to eat! We’ll definitely be back!

Visited here twice during my week long visit to historic Savannah. Walked all over the city, enjoyed the squares, fountains, music, coffee, great food, boutique shops and people watched. It was such a lovely experience, and the gentleman at the visitors center was spot on in his directions to the best places as a single woman traveler.

Do yourself a favor -- get tickets for the trolley tour, get on board, and take a full tour of the city. On the second time around, find a destination you want to look at on foot and then go for it -- I suggest the fountain area. Also, be …

Yes, it's the best! I suggest you go all around when you first get on so you can see where you might want to go back and stop.
I took old towne trolley the are very good and effective.
They will give you a walking map that details the historic downtown. Beautiful parks in almost in every block on one main thorouh fare. If you stop at the VC usually you can park in there parking lot until 6:30 pm.
They have lots of brochures. The best piece of information that I would recommend is the map with the free bus route. The route takes you close to all the things you would want to see. If the buses don't take you right by them then you can get off and take a short walk.
There is paid parking but you can get free parking with trolley tour.
I believe Old Town Trolley Tours
My experience was no. Unfortunately we did not have free parking yet it was not at all expensive. We we're parked the whole day. So don't feel as if you will be sliced and diced by fees. It was not my experience at all
24 hours, not sure if overnight parking is allowed. But I believe there are vending machines & restrooms open all night
I don't know. I don't remember paying for parking.
Not a silly question at all. I don't think they have wheelchairs.
No gambling but plenty of drinking establishments.
I hear ya
We stayed at the Savanah Inn Bed and Breakfast. Our room was on a back street but it was very big, clean and nice. We'll stay there again. It is also on the very back side of the old city and we walked everywhere we went because we wanted to. We toured on the trolley as well from the visitor center.
If you are planning to use one of the tours . There lot is free since you purchase a ticket. They all go to visitor center.
Yes, go thru the gates and get a ticket. After a short visit upon exit they do not charge you.
