We really love a dog here and he has already come home for a pj party but while we were getting things situated for him to come home somebody else put him on hold (I didn’t know we could do this) is there anything we can do?

We returned him this Monday and I called this morning and he was already on hold. I asked if there was anything we could do because he has already bonded with us and we with him, but they said not until the other person decides if they want him or not. Which isn’t until the 15 ( we are ready to adopt tomorrow).

Awe sorry to hear that. Can you ask them why? If the wait was long someone else might have missed that your family was interested. Other point, maybe a better fit with another and you've prepared for an adoption. Your ready now, check for another one.
