It's a great place to visit with a variety of activities for everyone. There's a little playground for kids, plenty of trails for nature lovers, and there's even a kayak/canoe rental place. They also hold fun cultural events. It's really popular during the summer, so I recommend going early if you can. Highly recommend!

Oh how I love Gallup/Argo!! 🥀 My "happy place" 😊 Remember to bring proper hydration, the water tends to dehydrate even when it doesn't seem sunny! Also, I recommend paddling against current first and going till you're almost tired, then you can basically ride the current back. Otherwise you run the risk of biting off more than you're ready to swallow, facing the current back. Ask the staff which way is which to be clear!

Nature’s beauty at its best! This park is lovely for a walk, bike ride, jogging or simply enjoy sunshine! I went in early December and it was such an amazing experience to soak in sun and cool weather during my walk! It is really well maintained and offers many beautiful views of the Huron river along the way. These spots are best seen from the Geddes road entrance.

I cannot overstate how awesome this place is. Pull in and immediately there's parking with overlooks to the river with binoculars(free). We saw swans ducks and a heron. There are some beautiful nature trails right from there. The most amazing, well thought out playground I have ever been to is across a single lane bridge take a left and drive all the way to the end of the road. It's got picnic tables, shade, and 4 different play areas with sculptures of (I assume local) fauna. Each play area is engaging and it seems that a lot of engineering went into both the layout and the structures there. My 3 year old had a lot of fun but I also played on the playground and had a great time.

I use the boat launch off Geddes East of Huron Parkway
Not that I am Aware of in general. There are a couple in the main pavilion area.
Lots of standing water and some mud areas after rains so get a retractable leash you can better control them with. Also watch for silent bikers speeding by! There are 2 fountains with dog watering bowls near the rental building.
You'll want to contact Ann Arbor Parks and Rec for that answer.
You need to rent boats from us to get a van ride for van space is limited this year due to the pandemic. You could park 2 cars, bike the adjacent B2B trail, call a cab or if one person in your group rents from us they can catch the ride upriver to fetch the car. We also have good paddling in the 2-mile ponds due to the dams in Ann Arbor and there are public boat launches in many of the parks along the river.

People definitely fish there but just be weary of signage because some areas you can't fish at. (I'm not a fisherman do I don't know the best spots sorry!)
Yes, and my favorite spots for fishing are by the big bridge
In general, people who want to use the shelters are supposed to reserve them, which costs money. But if you can send someone ahead of the party, if they're not already reserved for that day, they're first come, first served.
There is light in some areas like the parking lot(s) but not in others. The trails are not.
