I recommend contacting the park directly. There may be multiple things going on at the same time. This is the time period for the firefly trail. There maybe something else happening off lake on that road.
They have a hunting event in the area. They were there last year sitting in the road with the rifles and shotguns at the ready pointed at the woods. It was quite disturbing.
