There is somewhat of a beach area at the actual State Park campground, pea gravel and sand. "Moonshine Beach" is north of the Table Rock Dam, State Park is about 1 mile south of the dam. "Moonshine Beach" is not part of the State Park, it is a separate location and it is part of the Army Corp of Engineers as opposed to the State Park which is run by the State. If you have an "America the Beautiful" access pass or a "Golden Access" pass, day-use at the Army Corp of Engineers parks are generally FREE for the pass-holder & those in the immediate (one) vehicle with the pass-holder. Depending on the time of year that you want to go, it's always a good idea to call ahead on the day you'd like to visit, to see how busy it is. Something that we do everytime now, and it has saved us a lot of hassle with getting to a location only to find that it's so crowded that it wasn't worth the drive to get there.
You can swim but it is more gravel. Moonshine beach is a very short drive and would better for small children as they maintain a sand beach there.
