It's still not a bad place to have a meal and some great conversation. We take our german counterparts there and they love it... that's until it's time to "go".
Hopefully you had great memories there, and if you still like the place maybe you can make new memories with your family!
Owners that cared about it have passed away sadly
It hasn't been the same. since Mr. White sold the beacon. Spartanburg is missing the historical beacon and Mr. White.
Of course it isn't your memory was hopefully a good one with your family it is older now but with the same atmosphere nothing is ever as it was when we were growing up but I suggest you taking your kids and having just as good a time with them as you had when you were growing up I think they will be just as excited about learning that you are there as a kid and having the excitement as much as they are we are all disillusioned about things as we grow older it is apart of life
I like the new owner. I talk to him every time I go in and he is very kind to me. He apparently has been slowly updating the menu and remodeling the building. I think he is doing an excellent job. I've never had an issue with the place. Food is always hot and staff always helpful.
