The climbing season is from the third Friday in April through Columbus Day.

Yes. Adults are $8. Children $4. According to the ranger there's 274 steps. It will be hot this time year. You are allowed to take a bottle of water only to drink. I would recommend taking it. You can stop on each landing for a break by the windows. Must be 42 " tall.

As long as you’re over 42” and are physically capable of climbing the stairs to the top.

Yes, number of steps varies by who counts. Hot inside but you can take your time once you're allowed in. Best bet is to go early. AND go this year because they are closing it next year to refurbish the stairs.
