Rooms were clean, bathroom was well stocked, kitchen was clean and best of all, the water pressure in the shower might have been the best I've ever had in my life! The beach gets pumped with sand once every five years and this was the night and what a scene! It was like something out of a movie! It was a spectacle to behold! I bought the t-shirt! The office staff was the friendliest anywhere. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on future visits.

We arrived in the rain just after a Nor'easter had washed about 4 feet of sand into their parking lot and broken the main phone and internet cable to the whole island. The staff worked valiantly to make sure we had a good stay, anyway. Thanks especially to Jennifer who went out of her way to help us! Then the sun came out, and we could really appreciate the fantastic setting right on the beach. Rooms were clean and well-kept in a simple, old-fashioned motel style--immediately adjacent to miles of undeveloped beach to their North. (Enjoy this place while it lasts. It won't be their fault, but the beach is moving in on them.)

Nice and roomy with king sized bed. Rates a little high for off season($200) We need handicapped accessibility. But no ground floor rooms or elevators (2 flights if stairs)

We visited the Outer Banks in February during off season. Many things are closed and there are no chain hotels or eateries here which, in my opinion, makes the experience so amazing. We stayed one night at the Cape Hatteras Motel and I was so sad we didn't have more time to stay. It is built right ON the beach in the middle of the dunes and it is the last property on the way out of Buxton, so there are miles of undisturbed beach to explore. We had a top floor room in building C and the views were fantastic. The room was SUPER clean! Loved the amenities offered from the mini fridge, toaster and microwave to the Keurig with locally roasted coffee for the Kcups! I could have spent days in the rocking chair on the balcony watching the sunrise and the ocean roll. The only thing that would make this room better would be a comfortable lounge chair. There is only the small breakfast table with two chairs and these chairs are small! The staff was pleasant and helpful. The Cape Hatteras Motel is an amazing opportunity to get outside of your brand hotel comfort zone. You will not be disappointed!

Gradual for us, we walked out above our chests and no drop. But, yes, at low tide you can walk way out & get some killer shells 🐚 too!
Yes. It's a fantastic location.
No piers far as I know. Half are oceanfront half are facing the sound. Oceanfront means step right out your door. Literally feet from your door. Nothing fancy just a truly wonderful experience for beach lovers. Gorgeous views.
Sorry, we are not pet friendly. You might try Cape Pines Motel.
