The beach is on the other side close to the lighthouse nags head is about a 15 min drive and that area has everything u need
There is a very nice wetland area and a platform where you can see fish if that's what u r asking.
If I remember correctly when you are on the road leaving the lighthouse if you go straight across the street there is a parking lot for the beach.
The lighthouse is on a long 2 lane island nothing really close but plenty to see north or south if the lighthouse

There's a boardwalk pathway that takes you through the wetlands to overlooks. You can watch birds and observe fish and other wildlife that is in and near the water. If you zoom on the map you can see it. It's well maintained and wheelchair accessible
I could sit in the wetlands overlook all day. Follow the wooden path to the left of the lighthouse when facing the lighthouse.
