People float down the river alot in the summer using tubes with large groups.But swimming I would not recommend.Thw River can be very rocky in places..

It is a great habitate for many turtles, and snakes....just sayin'. Has warning signs about watching out for undertow currents.

I have seen people kayaking down the canal. If that's what you are asking about. Would not recommend using floating down the canal.
