The directions on google are good upto a point. After they finish, just keep going on the same road up probably about 4-5 minutes. You'll see a gate closing a road on your left. That's where the trail starts.
Dhiraj's note is right... You should be able to park along the road by the gate. There's cobblestone like bricks on the shoulder just beyond the nearest home.
When heading from Kings beach post office in Crystal Bay on the right side, and you turn left. There will be the sign to Fire lookout. Nice view from up there!
