Great family friendly hike. The route is paved, dogs are welcome, and the views are amazing from the top. I would estimate that it’s under .75mi to the lookout from the road and the walk around the look out has some great facts that y out can learn. There are bathrooms at the top and lots of rocks for kids to climb on.

It's a short hike with some steep inclination, we hiked with a 7 years old and enjoyed spectacular view of Lake Tahoe.

There will be parking along the side of the road.
The directions on google are good upto a point. After they finish, just keep going on the same road up probably about 4-5 minutes. You'll see a gate closing a road on your left. That's where the trail starts.
