I plan on visiting the Lakewood Nj on Saturday do I still need to get a number the morning on Saturday in order to register my car or can I just walk on during operating hours.

You need to get there around 4am to get a good number

You may still need to get a number, it all depends on volume there (and NJ in general) I was there more than 3 weeks ago and they took numbers.
