Hours to years can be spent in this sanctuary.
There are easy hour long hikes to intense days hike. But for those who wish to see most with out the workout, park offer free tour bus. That takes you around the park, where POV are not allowed. Driving your own car from one corner to another is also an option.
You can spent half a day or more if you want. There are some easy trails for you to use. The only wildlife we saw during our visit were deer and many species of birds.
You can plan as much time as you want ... even choose to stay for several weeks.
From 1 -12 hours, so much natural beauty to see
You will find it is far more beautiful than pictures will ever tell. Set aside as much time as you can. We seen wild deer, mountain goats, prairie dogs all within sight of the designated trails.
I could get lost taking pictures through this area....
Yes..that's a good plan..that's pretty much what I did when I was there. You can spend a lot of time at various points along the route!
I only drove through from the south entrance to east and only stopped at a few pullouts for pictures and spent maybe 2 hours. It was an impromptu visit on my way to the North Rim. I truly wish I had set aside at least enough time to do (what I understand is short & easy) Riverwalk hike. The park was much more beautiful than I could imagine. Simply surreal! Visited mid-June 2018 close to lunch time: while it was pretty busy (almost no parking left, if any, on streets), I had no issue finding plenty of spots in the pullouts to stop long enough for pics.
You can spend as much time here as you'd like. From an hour to a week, it's worth the trip. There are short trails perfect for day trips as well as full day hikes up the narrows, or to Angel's landing that are a better fit for a longer stay.
That's up to you! You can just drive around and still get to see a lot. The trails would take you to the best views (there're short ones), but you won't regret just driving around the Zion!
