We were there in July in a Yukon XL Denali.. Yes we had to get out and walk thru... Only small car fit thru it but it is still worth going there if you are in a big vehicle.. Still plenty to see besides the one tree

I hadn't heard that it was blown down or that it occurred in 2017. However, it is leaning and secured with cables to enable cars to pass through it.

It's still standing as of November 2017. The tree is hollow and has cables supporting it attached to nearby trees. Also has some concrete near the roots helping to keep it up.
