Do you walk thru or drive thru never been there and have some eldery that would like to go

There is a driving tour available and several hiking trails.

Some of the paths around the offices, out buildings and museum are paved. You can access most of Dawes from a short walk from several pull off areas also.

Both, I recommend walk. You can actually walk on grass.
