Poor service is usually a sign of poor management and lack of caring for customers.

Alli Z | Dec 25, 2018

They refuse to understand that Seattle needs another IKEA. Having to wait 80 minutes in line for paying it's ridiculous.

Bad management. Spoke with a long-time cashier and was told the old manager whom everyone loved was replaced by a complete moron. Also, someone said that "there's too many people shopping". What an imbecile. I lived in california for 25 years. I NEVER had to wait more than 5 minutes at any check out stand in any ikea in cali. Ikea renton might just be the worst effing ikea on the planet

Wven if every register was open, which i have seen, it would still not be enough...they are just that busy!

Scott Willis | Dec 24, 2020

Probably a peak register traffic thing. When it's not busy, and you won't particularly notice because you weren't in line for long, it's expensive (and boring) to have lots of idle cashiers so they probably go do stocking or whatever. When it's suddenly busy, which you will notice because the lines are long, now employees are down at the other end of the warehouse...
