Not really. Unfortunately it's difficult to get help in an ikea.. not sure why. Perhaps a liability thing. Some ppl seem to get help loading but others do not. So it is unreliable.

No they do not assist with loading, there are however special parking spots close to the building just for loading. So if you can come with at least 2 people so one can watch the items while the other person goes to get the car. Makes it much easier!
I'm guessing that any such helpers, in addition to having to be paid to be there, might sometimes drop things, push something into a vehicle and hear ripping or crunch sounds, be blamed for something the customer actually did, or the customer stomps on the brakes and things the helper loaded (which the customer would have put in the exact same spot) slide forward and injure someone. Safer legally not to have employees anywhere near the vehicle or (ideally) the merchandise, once the customer has selected it.
