It's made when you order it, so not really pre-prepared. If everyone ordered an Americano, instead of specialized drinks, then maybe I could understand that a little more. They could be understaffed inside as well. Many times, it's faster to go inside than to sit through the drive-thru of any restaurant. Time of day has a lot to do with drive thru time, as does the orders of the people before you. I sat for twenty minutes in the drive thru at the one on Cedar Bluff, on Wednesday this week, and it was 10:15 in the morning, and I hadn't planned on it because I was on my way to the Dr. It made no sense, but it happened. I did make it to my appt on time, barely, but it was my choice to stop. I could've gone inside but it didn't look any better, and I was right. I actually got through the line faster than some of the people who went in. Staffing is key, and in the UT area, turnover rate is probably high. Perhaps going 10 minutes earlier or later, your schedule permitting, would help.
Not enough machines to make the demand of coffee. They need another machine. They be busy.
