I haven't seen anyone fly a drone there but if it complies with (I believe) FAA regulations I don't see why not since it's a public park.

I beleive that you can. I dont see why it would be a problem. I was flying a kite with the kids on Rockaway Beach, Brooklyn side by the bridge and the park ranger said there was an airbase nearby. No such air traffic near Forest Park.
I don't think it's drone friendly. There is alot of trees. Not alot of clear space to land, unless you are a pro. The track is always busy and definitely no space to fly drones. There are small spaces throughout. I have not seen anyone flying a drone there.
