It's free. There's a lot of nice places that would definitely work for a picnic. If you're driving, only need to find a place to park. Some people park at the REI Sporting Goods Store.
It is Free. I like this area so much that I try to ride this bike path once a week, if possible. The entire path is very scenic and a beautiful changing landscape with variety of people and cultures. There are a multitude of different parks on each side of th Platte River, making the ride, walking or jogging very enjoyable and suitable for all types of people including families and elderly folks. Within a few blocks of the bike paths on either side of the Platte River, there is delicious food by great restaurants, a variety of shops, commercial and residential buildings, various forms of art work, fun outdoor activities, an awesome skate and the Elitch Gardens Amusement Park! I definitely recommend this experience for anyone traveling or visiting Denver as well as the Local population!
I have an IK and want to know can I come down anytime and paddle? Or is there a fee?
It's free it's the most relaxing place in the city in the middle of it all. Great for a afternoon picnic when sun goes down. Great choice. John Lucero
