We saw a cinnamon colored bear last week in the field in front of the tunnel. That was very unusual.

We never saw any there or any other animal while at the park except for squirrels. We saw big horn sheep in canon city.

According to the nps website, there are no goats or sheep in the park. Closest you will [possibly] see are ferral horses or cows, though they are trying to round those up and get them out of the park. The only animals we saw, other than insects, were mule deer and some birds and rodents. Oh, and a baby bull snake near step house. Apparently, there are bear and mountian lion too, but unfortunately we didnt see any of those.

I didn't see any mountain goats in all the many times I've been but do not know for sure.

Robert Kokrda | Nov 8, 2018

No mountain goats that I am aware of.

Joel Ragan Young | Nov 8, 2018

I have been there several times, and haven't seen or heard of them being present in this park. There are wild mustangs but they're not an attraction regularly seen.
