My son had a haircut last week at a different place. He had a horrible haircut, the person actually gave my son a mullet. My son is in high school. You know that age, it was completely the end of the world for my son. My son is completely not a mullet person whatsoever. I told my son, I think it's time you stop going to the barber and maybe go to the hair salon, where you can get a proper haircut they take their time. You know what I mean, get a shampoo. Hair consultation a real full service type thing. Granted I really didn't want to pay $50- 60 bucks either. I thought and thought. I remember back in the day I used to go to the beauty school and get my haircut sometimes or get French braids, we're talking a million years ago. I'm 50 years old. So we booked an appointment for the Aveda beauty school in Vancouver. We went in today. Rachel W. Is the one who cut my son's haircut. She was extremely professional. She gave my son a consultation. And then she worked her magic. At the end she came and got me and showed me his hair. I see a big smile from my son, he seems so relieved. Number one, she got rid of the mullet. He has very cool hair again. It was just such a wonderful experience. It went from having a disastrous experience elsewhere. To the good folks at the Aveda institute in Vancouver to fixing my son's hair. Big thanks to Rachel W, for fixing my son's hair!!!

Went in for a partial, the girl that did my hair was very sweet, I did mention that my hair is temperamental and takes a long time to process, I also asked not to be toned..I wish they would have listened and left my bleach on longer, I left with EXTREMELY brassy/gold hair. I feel if bleach is done.correctly, you don't need a toner. The lighting in the school is HORRIBLE, and the wash bowl area has about 6 sinks that don't drain. I feel this Campus does not really represent the Aveda brand well, I booked there for price, convenience and what I thought would be very talented junior stylists, I'd skip this location and try the Portland campus instead.

I had a brow wax and haircut yesterday. Don't remember the young lady's name who did my brows around 2pm but she was very friendly and professional. However, I didn't have a mirror in the room to check what she had done (she said just use your front-facing camera... in low light...). When I got home, took a closer look, and she hadn't hardly pulled anything out. Still had to do a full tweeze myself. She seemed to be questioning the temperature of her wax beforehand, so maybe she just needs some tips on that? Full disclosure: I've never had my brows waxed at a salon, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Damian was my hair stylist and he did a great job! Again, very professional and friendly. He expressed nervousness several times while working on my pixie cut (wanted to make sure it was exactly what I wanted) and checked in regularly with his supervisor (was it Margot?) who was also friendly and helpful. Anyway, great experience overall. I'll definitely be back.

My facial was good but the downstairs is cold and they only offer a thin sheet on the bed. I ended up using the towel that was supposed to be used as a bolster as a blanket. Also a basket or something to set your clothes and purse in would have been helpful instead of the floor. The curtains don't provide a lot of privacy and could hear the chatter from other treatments and the class going on. Just a few things the school could upgrade or add.
