My son has been wanting a bank account for a few weeks…we went with People’s Credit Union as they don’t require a minimum balance. His account was opened with only a hundred dollars, but this bank made him feel like a very valued customer. We had a fantastic experience! It was quick and easy, and he left the bank with his permanent debit card!

I'm not sure why PCCU has such snotty reviews, Ive been with them for at least 8 years now and have never had an issue. They're always very understanding if I have an issue and extremely pleasant and helpful. When I overdraft they've gone so far as to remove the overdraft fee (i think its $25) for me, because they "understand people have a bad week." The one time i needed my card cancelled and replaced I was able to walk in and get it that same day. Getting a car loan through them was a dream, their rates were low and they would give you "Loan free" months like a birthday gift and Christmas gift and i believe even 4th of July/Thanksgiving. To me THAT is excellent service. Ive done loans through IQ, WSECU, and i believe one other but PCCU is where I will probably always stay.

Always great service and relatively easy banking. Couldn't get credit or a loan and was charged too much for overdrafts, but I guess that's my fault for being poor. All banks prey upon the poor.
