Part of "Holiday" management. Do NoT have as many rooms ( compared to 'others' ). But good place to stay.

My mom has been here for almost two years. She loves the staff and the food. They are really nice people, that made our family very comfortable avoid moving our mom in there. I've had dinner there with my mom several times and the food is really good. The tenants all like living there.

Very kind and nice staff who are really doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Unreliable transportation to Dr appointments. The food is horrible. They keep saying it's due to financial cuts made by the corporate office and (Holliday); they could choose fewer ingredients of better quality, far less starch and low sodium. I really doubt the person doing the cooking is a chef as advertised; it seems like cheap diner food.

If you enjoy being called a pig among other names, disrespected, talked down to, and treated dismissively then the Management at Kamlu will be your cup of tea. The attitude and actions of the managers Mikey and Fara towards staff and residents is beyond incomprehensible. The disingenuous smiles and caring is a front for what really occurs behind the scenes. Paying residents are talked about, made fun of & put down behind their backs. Staff are belittled and given no encouragement. Holiday needs to take a good look at the arrogance of its Managerial & Sales staff and get someone in who has a compassionate, genuine heart towards it residents and staff. This is not what people should be paying for or have to go to work to.

Questions & Answers

My elder mother would like to have her bicycle with her. Is there space for such things? We're looking at a three-wheeler. Thank you. :)

Likely she'd have to either keep it in her room or park it in a parking spot with a lock. They do have a covered area that could be a possibility. Whatever decision is made (about anything!) get it in writing! Also, if meals are part of your decision, the food's not very good. It used to be very good but, there have been a lot of cuts because a big corporate business bought Holliday.

Owned by a corporation. Holiday retirement or something like that

Why does this place allow the manager to decide that a resident can not have family visitors

One resident told me her relative was banned for 1) living with her beyond the 1 week visit allowed in the contract, and 2) threatening the manager when he was told to leave. That is the only case I know of.
