New In Portland

So you wouldn't think that I'd rate them 5 stars after my experience. I was admitted for 2 days and never left the ED. I was held and treated in hallways. I had a life threatening condition, with scary vitals. Yet, I stand amazed by the incredible, attentive care I received from my RNs, Abby, Sarah, Arlene and especially Miel. In the middle of chaos, they managed to ease my pains and concerns. Dr. Heather Hoops and other specialists communicated directly to me. I often knew things before the nurses did, but we figured it out. And I had a very vivid picture of what our hospitals have endured these last 2 years. They are the real heroes πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€βš•οΈ βš•οΈ (and they're all women ♀️

ER Dr thought gluten was sugar. If he can't tell the difference between a celiac and a diabetic, there's problems.

Callous staff, inept triage, extraordinary wait times, sparse room in waiting area, filthy restrooms/waiting area, unwilling to divert ambulances when area T1 have capacity. I have had multiple horrendous experiences at this ER, hamstrung because their docs are good but ER is abysmal. Go elsewhere.

No communication about what’s happening for hours. No Covid protocols as patients sit into he waiting room on top of each other, with several not properly wearing masks and no clear ventilation. No respect for privacy as some consults happen in crowded waiting area. Care and quality have gone downhill and 1 star is too many.

Only one person per patient. Unless that patient is a child and its both parents.

Is there a hotel nearby?

Yes, several. Shop around. Some are low quality but high priced.
