I would give it -5 stars if I could. The Lady Who Worked on the Window “E” is absolutely Very Rude and horrible. She needs to get fired. This was worst experience I had with the SSA because of her.

The reps have no control over this RIDICULOUS system. It's truly amazing how government agencies can't seem to have enough staff to do things well. If this was a business, it would have gone broke fast due to the poor service. EXTREMELY terrible communications.

Went in on a Monday without an appointment. Explained my situation to security and a gentleman of SSA. Got a replacement card/ number issued within 5 minutes. Overall, the service was super friendly and. Ery efficient 👍

Appointments can only be made by phone, but will not answer the phone. Not only that, if you are on hold long enough, they will just hang up on you! This happened to me 5 different time over the course of 4 hours, before calling a different office and asking if I could deal with them instead. The other office was great. The National call-line took a while, but was also helpful. This location needs new people.

Yes inform then of your plans, they can't assist you if you aren't in USA...
My husband says its about 800 if you make minimum. Which is 730. It doesn't affect retirement. Just disability. After 800 you lose 1 dollar for every 2 you make.
I just had to do this you have to go to you local ss office to order one and they will give you a stamped paper proving you did if you need it for employment or anything else.
You need proof of identity and a proof of address and you don't get your card the same day you get a verification letter from the office stating that you have applied and you will be receiving the card in a couple of weeks.
Go into the closest Social Security administration office with the proof of a death certificate signed by the coroner/m.e. and then publicly announce her passing if you haven't already. You can also take the announcement of her death with the certificate in to the S.S.A. office. You can also do all of this online but in my opinion it is better to do it in person.
Like most government agencies you should expect to wait for at least an hour.
Yes is open close at 4
I'm sorry that's pretty vague. However, I have a hunch you may be looking at Beneficiary Identification Codes (BIC) which code a persons claim for what it is so for example some I looked up: "A" is used to represent a "Primary Claimant" and "D1" is used to represent a "Window" 1st Claimant" and "E" is used to represent a "Mother/Widow/1st Claimant." I hope that helps and if you think that may be it then there is a list of the codes they use online or just call and ask. No matter, if you need to go downtown to the offices, make sure to call ahead and make an appointment or you'll be turned away.
Call back. Shouldn't take more than 30 min to get.through
You will have to go to the Social Security office and speak to a person you will need to bring your husband's social security number and your son's as well as his birth certificate for proof if you are divorced from your husband you will need to bring the paperwork from your divorce if there is a child support set up you will need to bring that as well I hope this helps have a great day 😊
They are usually free.

US Citizens can utilize the American Citizen Services section at the US Embassy or Consulate in a country to facilitate soc sec checks, as well as voting, notary services, and other admin needs.
You can get one online if you sign up for mysocialsecurity on the Social Security administrations website.
Insurance? I do not understand. What does that (Medicare?) Have to do w ss? I can't get a hold of ss to find out how much my monthly benefit check would be at this early age (64) - versus at full retirement at 66 yrs 6 mos. Are you talking about Medicare covering 80% and I need a private co. To cover the other 20%? I know all this. My husband is retired on ss and Medicare, plus UHC supplement. Why do they withold/hide the amt. From Me that I would get now and as time/age goes on until full retirement? I do not even know that figure. It's crucial for planning (pt work).
Yes
Is there a Dropbox at this location
Yes you do
No that is not correct. I just went through this process. First you must go to ssa.gov and print out a social security form, then fill it out. Then you have to call their local office and schedule an appointment. They will NOT accept you without an appointment .
I went there and they say phone line was down. You need to call on phone after the phone is fixed.
Go to any social security office and get an application or you can go online to SSA.GOV and apply though the web site
You have to call and get the fixed appointment
You should call the local office number to make an appointment. You can walk in during business hours but there's a security guard who will probably tell you to call for an appointment...
As of 3 weeks ago, the one in SW Yamhill St was working. I would believe it still is. You need to schedule an appointment over the phone beforehand though.
They are limiting in person services to dire circumstances because of covid right now. So your best bet is to call them and figure out how they can further assist you. So basically at this time no in person meetings unless emergency.
I would call to check before you go. With the new federal rules in place, you should be able to get help over the phone.
Call the 1800 number and ask
Go in the office and request it from the window. Or go to the ssa.gov website.
The only problem with that is getting through on the phone. It's easier to just go down there. The wait isn't very long except the first of the month
You either received an overpayment for a while and they are going to get the money back or you were working and didn't report it
No. If you have any paperwork confirming your marital status then you do not need to bring your spouse with you.
No. They never call you personally. They put everything in writing. This is a scam unfortunately and it will continue to happen unless you tell them that you work for the f.b.i and want their business name and number

An appointment will save waiting for hours.
no they will need her birth certificate & your id
No
No not sure
Absolutely! Dogs are encouraged. 🤗
Nope
You'll have to go in with your citizenship paperwork and a hard copy id card. Congratulations on your citizenship and good luck.
No, they do not.
Y ess
I really don't know for sure. Try calling them.
Yes you can but keep in mind you ONLY get 10 cards in a period of lifetime
I would go into the VA and talk to them or call then go down to your local SSA. I would advise going on to the website as well to verify hours of operation. One last thing, all federal buildings have security on site be prepared to go through screening like the airport.
How do I get a copy of my 2018 SS Benefits
