My father went Septic in Portland at my bachelor party and ended up in the ICU at Legacy Emanuel. No one in my family is from Portland. We ended up needing to stay in Portland, away from our homes and families for the better part of 2 months. We basically lived at the hospital. And when we needed a break or a decent meal, we walked to Sloan's. It was an absolute godsend in our worst moments. We could have a beer, relax, eat some decent food and more importantly, get a change of scenery. Scenery that felt less like a bar and more like a cozy living room. Everyone was sweet and gave us the space we needed as a family. Out of every single place in Portland, I'll always have such a strong affection for Sloan's. We even bought my Dad a shirt, hat and apron. My Dad made a full recovery and when we eventually do return to Portland, Sloan's will be our first stop. Photos for reference. CW: Hospital stuff.

This is a cool little local neighborhood bar. They have a full bar and really good food, a pool table, a couple of big screens to watch the games, video poker, and a neat old juke box that adds a lot of class. The bartenders are friendly and a lot of regulars that have became familiar faces.

Absolutely love the look and feel of this place, like an old diner getting renovated into a bar. One of those places you walk into and think "why didn't I think of that?" Great service, too.
