I grew up going here and it hasn't changed much, it's a really nice campground. There are different types of sites so you can kind of choose what your experience will be (some are more private, some are larger, some are walk-in). There are a few good swimming areas along the river, but it gets super crowded on hot weekends which is a bummer but is expected these days. There's a trail that goes from the campground and follows the river downstream for a long time. It's a really nice trail that I've walked dozens of times and leads to bridges, more swimming areas, all sorts of nature. The trail is currently closed off at the C loop entrance, but there's a sign with a map showing a way to go around. Only had one issue the last time I went which was that they don't sell firewood on certain days (wed-thu I think it was). Seems a little strange not to sell wood on Thursdays but I just drove down the road a mile to get some from the store which had better wood anyway.

We stayed up the Camp Creek road, in spot #1. What a fantastic campsite. The river is such a short, beautiful walk from the site we stayed at. Sites are very large, and ours had room for 5-6 tents AND our RV, with plenty of room to spare. The river nearby is great for kids, it runs slow and is a nice change from shallow to deep. Definitely glad we found this place!

Love this place , fits my 33' triple slide camper, only a handful of sites large enough for my camper, no hook ups, no cell signal, it's nice. I will try and share a 360° picture of our site..

Stayed at one of the paid sites, quite and beautiful. $5 per car, per night. Rangers stopped in daily and were super friendly. Fire pit, with grate and nice flat spots for tents.

Yes
All of the state campgrounds have tent camping.
o
There are paid sites, $20 a night, or the first come first served sites $5 per vehicle a night. Paid at diamond creek mill.
I was there last week and if you are there before 1pm (check-out time) you should be able to find a spot. We needed two spots for our camping trip and were able to find them. Weekends do get busy so you might want to arrive earlier. Good luck and enjoy!
Unfortunately it doesn't
25 a night so 50 for two
Yep, parking and access available.
I mean the campground itself. I actually called the state forest office after posting this question and they told me it's closed to camping.
Are you open for RV camping? We want to come Thursday, 10-8-20 thru 10-10-20
I didn't see one
Not sure about the camp grounds but the day use is open
There are sites scatered threw out there and the further you go back there are more spaced out sites. Not sure if the ones farther out are free anymore, but the last time i was out there, which was atleast 3 or 4 years ago, the farther ones out where free. The ones closer to the river you had to pay for.
There are however free spots at brown's camp
You can only reserve the group camp sites but they are usually reserved a year in advance. The rest are first come first serve. 12pm is when you're supposed to be packed up if you are not staying another night, so I'd say, show up around 1230 to get the pick of sites.
I also noticed several places on the way there that sold fire wood. One was for $5.00 a bundle. Signs along the hwy
It's first come, first serve. Depends on time of arrival. If you're getting there early, great chance. Later in the day your chances go down.
Couple weeks ago it was great. Average level of water great for a swim
15 per night for walk in sites and 20 per night for drive in sites.
I agree with Sandra⬆ Although if you brought it, you could tow it to Tillamook (about 30 mins) and maybe ride on the beach there..... However I'm not sure of beach/go kart rules.....
There's a "kiosk" with info about the campground right near the entrance. There you can fill out the form and put your payment in the locked mailbox. Its a carbon paper form. The first sheet goes on a clip on the post outside your campsite and the second one goes with your payment.
Not with a firearm. Jones creek is a state park and its illegal to have a firearm in any state park (because its part of the federal government). However, if you're talking about trapping, then I'm not sure. But, since were taking about the government, I'm guessing the answer is still no. Sorry.
I think it said September 7th
You might be able to find an unregistered spot higher up the mountain, but its not likely.
You'll have to check with the main campground, but the $5 first come first served, charges by the vehicle. We had 2 trailers and 3 tents, and paid $5 a night for each of the 4 vehicles we had.
The sites when you pull into Jones creek, before any of the turn offs are $20 a night. You may have to reserve them through the forestry department. Or with Diamond Mill. Restrooms are close, but no showers. The $5 a night sites are first come first served, and you have to go look for them on the logging roads.
If you have a federal discount pass the rangers will stop by to verify the pass number and that you are the authorized pass holder. They also do a good job of verifying accurate payment. Last time there I over paid by a day and they stopped by to have me pay the right amount so I didn't over pay. Good people up there.
Oregon department of Forestry has it listed as designated fire spots only. Meaning if you have a fire pit, and grate you are good to go. Check the ODF web site for updates on fire danger.
Sometimes they put portables out at the numbered sites. Diamond Mill has vault toilets, and there are vault toilets at the main jones creek day use/camp area near the highway.
If it hasnt already opened it should be shortly. The day use area is open year round though.
Nope.. there is a fee . Not to sure how much. Wasn't too much..
