No other words can describe this place other than a meat lover's Paradise
This is the best place ever 5 years ago I was a budget on wedding rehursl dinner they were very helpful and my husband and I forever loyalty to Gartner's. Best place ever.
My family and I have been shopping at Gartners since 1962 and it was wonderful for 58 years however we got some ribs for this past 4th of July and we were given pork butt, we were not enchanted to say the least ! Jerry Sr. Would not be happy to hear that the person or persons running his business now are slowly running it into the ground ! Not happy......
I am a customer of gartner's. I went in yesterday for some tomahawks and they didn't have any.
They will sometimes have them though. Best to call in advance because they can make sure they cut some tomahawks special for you potentially. I bought 6 t-bones yesterday at about $21/lb. Hope this helps.
Where can I order a goose for thanksgiving. And how much per pound?

I don't know if Gartner's has Sweetbread. Call them & ask.
Do they sell packages of meat scraps for dogs? Mixed beef, pork, lamb, whatever in 20+ lbs. size?

They probably do. That would be something, if they have it, that they would keep in the back. They have different options available, for humans, that aren't displayed in front. Good chance that they do.
Do you sell either 1/2 turkeys or preferably a leg and thigh portion. Don't need a whole turkey for 2 people. Help!

I've seen Turkey legs so I'm sure you can get portioned out pieces.
If I remember correctly I do believe that they're stuffed with what appears to be stuffing (like you stuff a turkey with) they look delicious. I have yet to try them.
I used to work at a rib restaurant. Get a fork and move it under the membrane along the bone at the end of the rack. You then grab a hold of the membrane and rip it off in one piece. Makes it more tender without it.
You can call ahead for one of their packages and it will be ready when you arrive. (And you actually get a discount for calling ahead on at least one of them.)
They are a full-service butcher shop, so you would probably want to choose your particular cuts of meat from the case, and if you wanted something that was not on display, you could ask, and they likely would cut it for you while you wait. I have done that in the past for steaks. They also will custom-trim roasts, and if you are buying something like a prime rib roast, they can cut the bones off, then tie them back on - makes it nice as you get all the bone flavor in your prime rib, but the bones come right off so you can easily slice and serve.
I recommend you call them. Never heard of wood hog. Did you mean wild hog? If so. I hunt my own hog and bring the boned out meat there for sausage processing, the seasonings they do are very good.
Gartner's will process wild game into pretty much anything you would like (sausage, pepperoni, hamburger, etc). They do require a minimum of 25 lbs or they will add there own meat to it in order to reach 25 lbs.
Call them. You're asking the public, not Gartner's itself. This is for stuff like: "would you recommend this place for organic free range?" Or "Do you know if they sell venison?" Call them and ask specific stuff like "do you sell giftcards and can you send them?" General public doesn't know specific stuff like products available and pricing and shipping. Just a fyi on how to use Google. 😊
All ham is curded smoked, which is a form of cooking, but you may order any form or part of any meat at Gartner ' s ( my wife's aunt came from Germany and went there and ordered meat for Rolawten and they knew what she wanted )
