I use the drop off Recycling Center bins. Very convenient for paper, cardboard etc. You don't get paid for what you bring, but it's way better than just throwing paper, cardboard, plastic bottles away. Thank You for being there!

I have taken my recycling to this location for years and I have NEVER seen it in as sorry condition as it is right now and has been since Monday...today is Sunday 8/2/2020. I didn't leave my recycling on Monday because everything was overflowing. There was a few dozen glass jars and bottles on the ground in front of the glass bins as well as a few items (most notably a bed frame) that should've been @ the dump. I went back on Tue...same thing. Wed and Thur...no change. Friday...the bed frame was gone as was other garbage items. I finally called on Friday to find out how long it before the bins would be emptied. The woman on the phone was very argumentative, insisting the bins were emptied every morning. When I told her about my experience, she said once they're emptied they fill up again very quickly. I called BS and told her the area had been that way for several days. She told me to hold and that she would transfer me to the place that managed that area. She came back on the line and told me "they would get the forklifts out there." Whatever THAT meant because when I went back today, there was virtually no change. I found a little empty spot on the ground between the plastics bin and stuff that people had left in garbage bags next to the bin. I found an empty plastic bucket to put my tin recycling in. I'm somewhat ashamed of myself for leaving my recycling the way I did but even more ashamed of whoever is supposed to maintain the area. And even MORE ashamed of the woman I talked to that felt she had to lie in order to appease me. I wish I had taken note of her name. I would like to direct this, to her...if you know a lie is going to piss someone off, you'll only make it worse by lying about it.

Convenient way to get rid of your recyclable materials 24/7. Plus they have the best deals in town for an used older (I3, I5, AMD CPU's) laptop.

This so called non-profit is disgusting and i know they pay these poor disabled people half of others and use them as modern day slaves!!!! I spoke to numerous former employee's and heard VERY DISTURBING stories !! This is not ok to promote this cash cow company as they showcase there 1-1000000 positive success stories meanwhile they have disabled people working long shifts for basically no income in harmful and horrible working conditions!

What do you so with recyclable plastic bags that you get in the blue cart? Thank you. Bonnie

By the time plastic bags go through the commingle system, they are too dirty to sell to manufacturers, so we have to throw them in the trash. A large number also get wound around our machinery every day. A better solution is to bring them back to your grocery store. Best is to refuse to use them by using reusable bags.

Recyclers in California, Arizona and Corvallis, OR reject glossy printed: magazines, cereal boxes, pages from phone books & other items. How is Marion County able to recyled this stuff when others cannot or will not? Confusing to me. Thank you.

Hi Janice, Recycling any item depends on whether there is a buyer who will buy the sorted material at a price that is equal or less than throwing it in the trash. We still have mills that will take our sorted paper and boxes. In other areas, the cost of the processing and shipping to a mill might be so high that it makes recycling that material cost prohibitive.
