Went hiking here over Christmas. Didn't get too far because I was unsure of which trail was what and I didn't want to get lost. But it was beautiful.

The word "beautiful" doesn't even come close to describing this location. We went with 6 kids, expecting to have to hike to see the lake and were pleasantly surprised to find that the like was right next to the parking lot. We ended up foregoing the hike and just spending time at the lake! The water was cold but my husband and brother-in-law jumped in and the kids waded in the water for a short bit too.

I went there on Memorial Day weekend. Pleasant weather in higher 60s. 48oz water per person is good enough. Best part of hike is from 1/3rd to 2/3rd. Keep looking out for views on the mountain. Moderately strenuous. You can decide to return from 2/3rd as the last 1/3rd is not worth it and nothing great at the end.

Diablo lake is a very beautiful emerald lake near the Northern Cascades National Park Visitor Center in Marblemount Washington. This is a good spot for wide angle photography. This trail takes to various vista points around the lake. There is a beautiful Vista point which can reached by road using a vehicle where you can get beautiful panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. There is also kayaking and canoeing available at this lake. This is approximately 10-15 minutes drive from the visitor center.

No, there's a parking lot. No pass required. You'll be ok. It will be cold though.
Yes there a parking lot right by the trailhead with beach access.
