What a great find! I was only in Raleigh for a day but I'm so glad I stumbled across The Fiction Kitchen. The skillet cornbread was great and I am in love with the Thai skewers. The flavors of everything were so present and tasty. And the truffles and mousse to top it off was superb. My sweet tooth was completely satisfied. I hope to be back in the area soon--I could easily see myself becoming a regular here. Though I didn't manage to snag a reservation to dine in, the curbside pickup process was SO efficient and friendly, which was great.

The best vegan food ever! Or actually one of the best restaurants that is good for everyone‘s palate.I’m not a vegan and I saw a review of the restaurant that someone said they have the best chicken waffles and I thought a bit exaggerated huh? No, they did not exaggerate at all. We had spicy and sour soup, chicken and waffles, vegan charcuterie, peanut noodles, and tres leches cake. (( my vegan chicken and waffles photo is blurred so I couldn’t post it)) Everything we ordered is impressive. The staffs also were very friendly and provided very good service. This restaurant is definitely a good place for foodies.

The establishment is bright and colorful as well as relaxed. Dividers in place to maximize safety and occupancy. Their cocktails are strong and flavorful. The highlight of our experience was the food and our waiter Kevin, who was awesome! Having a waiter who is passionate and knows the menu is key when eating at a new restaurant. The curry, which he recommended, was amazing. Spice level was perfect for what I ordered and the aroma was delightful. The "Chicken and Waffles" was also ordered at our table, it was delicious and a huge portion. Amazing experience here, more to come!

Absolutely superb and creative vegan cooking, and I'm not even remotely vegetarian. Best dish of chicken and waffles in town. Decadent chocolate mousse that I would have sworn had dairy in it, but it didn't. Happy to eat here and I don't miss the meat one bit!

Hi and thanks for asking! We have taken this pandemic very seriously and are doing our best to keep our staff and our customers as safe as possible. For that reason, our small dining room has not been open to the public since last March. Our staff members are required to complete the NC Count On Me courses and work in accordance with those guidelines. We also encourage regular testing, safe practices outside of the workplace and keep a current record of staff test results. We did have one limited exposure amongst our kitchen staff and we subsequently closed, cleaned, and were 100% transparent with our clientele during that time. We will continue to operate on a “curbside only” basis until we feel the virus is no longer a threat to the wellbeing of our staff and guests.
Pretty affordable. Entrees are between $10-18 depending on what the special is. Dessert is $7-8 drinks are cheaper than most in Raleigh. Worth it for the quality and creativity of the food. Cheaper than many places in Raleigh and several times better.
About 2 miles... a nice walk, especially if you dig railroad tracks and prison buildings. A tiny bit longer if you don't. :-)
