For such a large project - The team at Prairie Electric took every possible chance to help us understand the entire process from end to end with our electrical panel change. The team that came and did the work handled every step of the process with great care and professionalism. Highly recommended - and we will continue to refer them to friends as needed!

Glen and Dalton did amazing work. They replaced my wall heaters, as the old ones were a fire hazard. I also had a surge protector installed, as well as a smoke alarm. I highly recommend Prairie Electric.

I would give this business ten stars if I could. I had the good fortune of having Mack and Max just visit my property and restore the power in two of my rooms, replace a damaged light switch in another room, and get two of my fans running again while replacing the bulbs. Their professionalism and top-notch customer service blew me away upon our first meeting and I told them so. We had a conversation about everything they did and they told me what they would do before they did it and more important to me, why these things happened in the first place. I will not hesitate to recommend these gentleman and Prairie Electric to anyone, and if you're looking for someone to serve your electrical needs and are unsure, don't hesitate to give these guys a call. They know what they're doing. A+

As the owner of a local home inspection company I look at hundreds of homes a year and inspect the electrical system. I see the work of many different electricians and can definitely say Prairie Electric is the best in the business. I refer them to all my clients who need electrical repairs done. I own a 70s home in Vancouver and the main panel was outdated, I had Prairie upgrade my panel yesterday. The work they do is top notch, very neat and professional at a very fair price. I highly recommend Prairie for all your electrical needs!

Breakers have three positions, “on”, “tripped”, and “off”. To reset the breaker, the handle needs to be pulled or pushed entirely to the “Off” position. There will be a physical snap when it sets in place. From there, you can push or pull it to the “On” position. Make sure that the handle goes entirely to one side and the other and doesn’t remain in the center, “tripped” setting.

These areas of your home have a special device called a G(round) F(ault) C(ircuit) I(nterrupter) receptacle which are very sensitive to moisture and water; required by the National Electrical Code, they create a safer electrical system for you and your family. If one of your GFCI outlets has stopped working, simply hit the reset button on the outlet and it should be fixed.
If you have a Federal Pacific or Zinsco Panel, it could potentially be a fire hazard for your home and needs to be replaced. If you aren’t sure if your panel is outdated, give us a call.
