The first place I have gone in 4 decades on earth that trusts I know what I'm talking about with my own body and how it feels/what it is experiencing. I don't feel gas lit, minimized, or made to feel dramatic. Instead, these are competent healthcare professionals who bring listening, expertise, and an attitude of teamwork to each appointment. I feel seen as a person and not just the dollar value I bring as a patient, like most other places.

Pohala is a terrific family medicine and integrative wellness provider. The staff is uniformly friendly and efficient. They clearly strive to help patients feel relaxed and at ease. My wife and I feel that the practitioner we work with is very empathetic and really takes the time to listen to our health care concerns. We are grateful to have found Pohala and highly recommend it!

I really wanted to like this place, they seem very nice. But the cost of my first appointment was double what it was to see my previous doctor who was an MD and ND. They don't seem to provide lab results on their portal, so my expensive lab results that may or may not be useful are unavailable unless I pay for another very expensive visit. In the mean time I used their phone system to cancel an appointment and still got charged for not cancelling. Their automated system is very diligent in harassing me about that fee I shouldn't need to spend time disputing. Edit: just to clarify my previous provider was also in this geographic region, just thought I'd save myself some driving. Additionally, I have a more than full time job and don't need to spend my limited free time addressing errors in your phone system. If appointments can't be cancelled that way, delete the option. Charging people for something you offer is not okay.

Stefanie Aring, FNP, is very personable (no white lab coat or scrubs either) and works interactively. She listens. She takes what I say into consideration and works out a plan of action accordingly. She also makes notes of the meeting to share. This feels like team work. I choose this clinic for its functional health orientation as this is in alignment with my thinking and comfort level. Other staff have also been friendly and helpful. The clinic itself feels comfortable and welcoming.
