We went here when it was raining and it is still as amazing. It's an old tree where the dirt has been eroded under it's branches. It's a beautiful tree, but please don't touch the dirt around it. I don't think this tree will honestly be around for that much longer, so see it now if it's on your bucket list.

If you’re driving by you might as well stop and see it! Or stay here; the campsites looked very clean with clear trails from what I saw. All you have to do to visit the Tree of Life is park and make your way down to the beach. This is a great spot for sunsets too! Grab some chairs and blankets and catch a beautiful view :) I will say, the Tree didn’t look to be in the best of shape so come and visit quick! It is still a very cool sight to behold- nature finds a way :)

I’m sad to say the tree is slipping down due to weather! If you want to see the beautiful magical tree that rest between two hollowed walls for decades before it falls I would suggest to go before this next winter. The sheer weight of the snow on the tree along with the sides eroding from the rain she probably will not last another winter however I hope I am wrong!

I was here on a darker day and you could feel the power of the ocean and wind. This tree is definitely worth stopping to see. You can climb right under it and get up close to a small waterfall. Not too many people around and easy access to the beach.

Questions & Answers

Is taking driftwood off this beach allowed or against the law?

D Davis | Aug 17, 2019
Nicole Winkle | Aug 17, 2019

Wood gathering in the vegetation and forested areas near the beach has caused deterioration, so I would stay away from those areas to protect the park. Keep in mind the "leave no trace" guideline of responsible outdoor exploration.

I believe you could. Might be an Issue with tourists . There are a lot of fallen trees laying around in front of it. A real obstacle course. It would be very interesting, but I would go for it...
