Great beach with beautiful views. Bring bug spray or something to deal with the mosquitoes in the parking lot. They were 10000% out of control.

On a nice sunny day, the best place to be is the beach. I had so much fun at the Sauvie Island beach. A massive Cruise ship went along the coastline and.i.wished to be on board the ship to the Bahamas😍. Also there were many other small boats with fun seekers on board. I had a lot to eat and drink. Laid back on the sand ,played in the water and walked down the coast too taking pictures.

Going to this beach has become an annual summertime activity for us. When you don't have as much time to drive to the coast and want to stay in shorts at the beach rather than jackets, this one works beautifully. There is parking by the street (parking passes can be purchased from some shops and farms on the island) and then it's a short walk (and steps up) to the beach. Plenty of sand for kids to play with and the water is pretty calm for some swimming or floating on the floatables. We always take a beach tent for some shade, otherwise it could get brutal on a sunny day. I do miss having showers on the way out to clean up. But other than that, I'm happy to enjoy this river side beach when I'm itching for some beach vibes!

I love how long this beautiful beach stretches, meaning if your plan is to walk and enjoy the view this is it. There tons of parking and in the off season it's often so quiet and peaceful. I haven't been to this place during the peak of summer so I don't know how crowded it can get and often time its other people who can ruin great places like this.

I went to Reeder beach on Sauvie island yesterday with my 5 kids (11, 9, 4, 3 and 1 month). It was great. The hardest part was getting down the steep hill down to the beach. There's no facilities. Bring some shade, a good chair and a changing pad and you should be fine. Lots of room and the water is very calm here.

Public beaches here are open all year but if you're in the wildlife area, they are closed as of October 1st due to hunting season.
