Ray was on night duty and I've never come across anyone so rude and unapologetic in nature. He was unhelpful and if he was white, would have been clocked and reported for being r*cist. Although the bottled water was not free, the staff had given guests a couple free. Ray refused to give us any. We tried the next day and got it for free! If there were supermarkets open that late, we will have no need to be buying water at $2.8 a small bottle! Anyway, hotel was manageable, the bath tub would not drain and there are no fridges in the rooms. It's close to the seat of government (16 minutes to the White House, and more to The Mall). Valet parking is $57 a night, so come prepared to drain your savings staying here. Not worth taking pictures of and I do not recommend this place . There must be better alternatives out there

Our stay at Hotel Lombardy was lovely. I love the old building. It was so charming. Every staff member that we encountered was so friendly; the customer service was outstanding. Our room was clean and well equipped. The location was excellent. We were within walking distance of the White House and the National Mall. There is a subway station a couple of blocks away. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great location/some concerns Great location for using public transportation & walking Helpful staff Thermostat in my room not working so sleep was tough with temperature extremes. Despite my request to not clean room given covid, they did & removed the few comfortable pillows so couldn't go to bed till they found them again. Bathroom floor done in glossy wall tiles so slippery, as was the bathtub, too. Awakened by housekeeping staff's loud voices too early in the mornings. The colonial-style furnishings & window blinds needed some serious attention to dust in a way that removes it. My booking included a free upgrade but they couldn't provide it. They should have offered some compensation for this. Room coffee was awful. Given the street noise, best to get a room as far off the street as possible.

This old world hotel is nothing short of special. The staff are as nice as can be. They were so accommodating when I had to consider staying an extra night (or leaving early) due to a potential snow storm coming towards I95 so that I wouldn’t have to deal with cancelation fees and the character of this space is something that cannot be manufactured today. If you are looking for ever so modern and all those bells and whistles, don’t complain that it’s not here. This hotel has something better than that. Side note- The bellhop snuck a few complimentary apples into my bag as I checked in which was so cute and I felt very much at home, cozy, (and safe) throughout the entirety of my stay. Thank you Hotel Lombardy.
