"Veterans"!!! Very helpful and can refer to the places that are available to meet ur needs. This is the best place to start when you first get to Portland!

My Primary Care VA physician has been here since I came to Portland. 9 year ago I reckon. I couldn't thank these people enough.

Just looking up walk-in hours and noticed a bad review. Thought I'd share my experiences because these guys deserve better. Firstly, CRRC is a branch of the local VA. It's a small place with the various professionals splitting their time between Portland and Vancouver, but they offer many services. I started coming here in 2015 while my disability claim was still being processed. I currently use CRRC for primary doctor and drug doctor, both of whom are very helpful. They got a new primary doctor recently who's been just as helpful as the previous. I've also seen a great behavioral therapist here. I'd seen a few therapists as a kid in the 80s, 90s and they sat there and stared at me and their watch, looking annoyed. I despised therapists. Until I met this one. The guy just started talking and it was solid gold. CRRC also offers a program that helps with housing for homeless or at-risk veterans, as well as education assistance, though these parties are only available at an inter-mitten schedule. The front desk staff have always been friendly to me, though sometimes busy due to the high volume of calls. I also get flu shots here! The front room seems a little dingy, but it's clean. They have a security guy who guards the coffee so there's always a cup for me. Coffee, sometimes food, is donated by a charitable group (I don't remember the name, sorry, but thank you!). Right off the MAX line. I love this place.

Not at the VA CRCC - this is a social services center attempting to match Vets with resources, programs to help them out.
It's been several years since I was last there. They were great and seem to try very hard to help me out with anything they could. Recommend you walk in and they will, in detail what exactly they are able to assist you with.
If you are homeless you can come in and talk to a social worker. They can get you in touch with resources in the portland area as far as shelters. And help you enroll in programs rhat may pay for a portion of housing. But the VA does not pay for hotels or have any housing.
