We enjoyed our stay. Only downsides really were the smokers hanging out at the very limited dog bathroom area. Would have preferred an entirely smoke- free hotel. But they could use a couple of truckloads of mulch since there is no grass.

Pretty decent place. Nice architecture. Close to main road. Clean room and comfortable beds. Check-in girl was nice. You can play in Chattahoochee River in back. The place needs some TLC these days. Felt a bit rundown. Carpenter bees everywhere sawing holes in everything. No more real breakfast when we went (May 2022). TV remote was broke. Parking was tight. We were booked next to a very loud "biker" group (some on bikes, some in cars) who were drinking heavily and yelling during the day and till very late night. I guess not the the hotel's fault, but they did nothing about it and it was not relaxing and impossible to sleep. Ruined the vibe for sure. They should have been quieted down or asked to leave.

Incredible stay! Spectacular river views. Extremely comfortable beds. Friendly and accommodating staff. Exceptionally clean room. Walking distance to many different fantastic restaurants. We had an amazing time here at the Helendorf & can’t wait to return!

I highly recommend this place!!! The room was super nice, very clean and new. Right in the heart of town, walking distance to everything. The hotel gave us a park pass even before checking in time. Wonderful view of the river. While here, I lost my drivers license, and the staff found and mailed it to me. The hotel staff was nice and professional. Thank you so much!! Loved it!

Absolutely pet friendly! Best time ever to be with your pet only feet from the river!
Breakfast is lackluster with coffee, fruit, juice and packaged sweet rolls.
Call ahead for the pet friendly rooms.
Breakfast is prepackaged items with milk, juices, and coffee and tea.
It was in mid-August when we went for a weekend getaway. They did not have many vacancies at that time. Keep calling! It's a great place to stay!!
The Helendorf is very reasonable, just understand a couple things, it's not a 3 or 5 star hotel, and the Golden rule works well with them. Any problem I've ever had and politely asked about they have been very amenable to fix. I love the location and for about $10-20 more you can get a bottom floor room with patio to look out on the water. Everything in Helen is walking distance from here. Eliminated any thought or need of driving after libations. Helen and the surrounding area are great places to explore over a long weekend.
