I am a Vet who received help from V.I.P. (veterans integration program) and VASH. Unfortunately this organization is dealing with same issues as all, trying to get things done in spite of all the limitations created by Covid and the World it created. I've met and dealt with many staff members in the Longview Housing Authority and their affiliates, and found everyone caring, understanding, and helpful. Please exercise patience with the programs, they really are doing a exceptional job!

I've loved the people who work for SW WA Housing authority! Kind, helpful, sincere! Truly reminds me of the old TV show about Andy Griffith and Mayberry!

They have been very kind and helpful working with me and my difficulty understanding and other problems associated with my chronic illness. I just have to remember that they are restricted to the boundaries set by the government. We, ourselves simply have to remember that some tasks are HUD's., others are the landlord's and the HUD recipient. I have no complaints! I enjoy working with them. .

My husband is terminally ill got 3day quit premises, for unsubstantiated accusations, any advice?
Your rights are that whoever buys the house has to honor the remaining months left on your lease. Why the Realtor is tell you this i don't know. But i would be looking for another place also. Don't want to wait till the last minute and when your lease runs out then start looking. Start looking now.
Go to 820 11th Ave. And ask when the next opening will be or can you sign up now
Apply to a waiting list when it is open. You can call their number use ext. 50 to get updates on waiting lists.
You can report any changes online to your housing specialist assigned to you. But the general rule is you must go in person and handle any changes in a written format. Then the receptionist can make you a copy and you have your copy date-stamped as well. good luck
Some is, some isnt. Ask your housing authority if your assistance is transferable.
They have a bulletin board you can look at plus a receptionist to ask questions. Other resources and you may have to fill out an application so stop by and ask. the hours vary so check the website
PEEP HOLES are not required by law. If that was the case every door in America would require such.
Yes, you can relocate after 1 year. You have to inform your HUD worker and make sure the other place is available, ready & rentable to you as well as being inspected. You have to have all your answers for the questions your worker will have plus the paperwork to show that you've been approved for the place where you want to relocate. There's probably more entailed things that need to be handled, so you just got to ask your HUD worker and you guys have to work together along with your new place. Got to have all that contact information address and phone numbers for the HUD worker to do their part
