Thursday February 10th, 2022. Just FYI the library it’s temporarily closed because of Covid-19. Such a shame, I was looking forward to seeing this library inside and study in a room, but it just didn’t happen. Very pretty from the outside 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Lots of thorough resources and a great place for people of all ages to learn and expand their knowledge of anything they wish to research.

Questions & Answers

Is there anything for kids here? I am aware of the Salem Public Library, just curious if this might be fun...

Hi Peter, not really much for kids here. We mainly serve the state government, other libraries across the state and the print disabled.

is the library open today

We are currently still closed to the public due to COVID-19.

Hello. I used to be an OHA employee and used the state library extensively for research. I retired in 11/2018. I will soon be contracting with the state. Is there a way for me to have free access to PDFs of research publications?

If you are on contract, I suspect the answer will be yes. However, that's a different department than mine. Contact Government Services. http://library.state.or.us/help/

Do they have computers

There are no computers for the public except for specific limited use from1 to 4 pm weekdays. The use has to relate to state employee work or the library's collections. However, there is free Wi-Fi and a seating area on the second floor. Anyone with a laptop or other device can use the guest Wi-Fi. Salem Public Library has computers for the public. Time limit is up to 90 minutes per day. https://www.cityofsalem.net/Pages/public-computers.aspx
