Parr ownership needs to get employees in check. Told my staff there to order windows she would have to wait two weeks to place an order, he was too busy to help her, and did not want our business as a contractor. 10-4 We will never purchase from this company again. Lumber is overpriced and poor quality anyways. Good riddance.

The folks at MLK Parr always treat our crew great! They have a great stock of lumber and tools and such inside, helpful employees, and they always give us shirts, hats, and pencils for the crew!

Wow. I can't express how disappointing this place was. Be warned, that customer service here is unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. We understand how folks make mistakes, everybody is human. But when we as the customer get yelled at about someone else's mistake, that's when things become a problem. We were charged with the incorrect type of wooden planks for our order. While the load was being cut and brought to our van we realized this error and notified staff. We noticed this after the fact that the wood had been cut and placed in our van. This was not what we ordered, and when we expressed this we were berated by staff and eventually the manager of this location. We were especially surprised with how the manager expressed their frustration with the already cut planks- which again, were not what we ordered. Customers have very little control of how orders are placed at this store. we don't know the codes on the receipts and we rely on staff to help enter the info correctly and guide us into figuring out how to support our projects. We were willing to pay extra for cutting the planks for our order as well. Yet when we realize the mistake it was as if we were supposed to apologize for this error? We do not recommend this place, ever.

Glad I found these guys. - They stock Kiln-dried lumber. - Minimal wane, slightly more than what you would see at big box, but less than I've seen at other places. - They often stock #2 & Btr grade, as opposed to Std & Btr that most places stock. - Easy, quick, and cheap delivery - Easy quoting (via Email or website) and purchasing (via Phone) - Competitive pricing. Slightly more than big-box for most of my items, but it's also hard to compare pricing when you struggle to find the same quality. I'd guess I went with Big Box for about half of my project, and Parr for the other half. I'm not a fan of working with lumber. It's dimensionally unstable and imprecise. Give me steel any day. That said, any future lumber projects of mine will be made only from Kiln Dried, #2 (or #1) and Btr. If you are sick of buying anything "green", or wasting a lot of time sifting through a Std & Btr grade, then Parr Lumber may be a good fit. You are still gonna get the occasional disappointing piece of lumber, but less so than two other places I tried. Update: I dropped a star (now 4/5) because the window rep was a pain to work with. I actually paid $100 more for the same exact windows at another place just so I didn't give him the sale.
