I have a 15 year old who has been in desperate need of counseling for 18 months. I couldn’t find anyone to work with teens when someone finally recommended Catholic Charities. When I told them the situation my daughter is in they told me they placed her on the waitlist but they will get her in. I was THRILLED and so was my daughter. We were feeling hopeless up until than. We waited two months but got an appointment for tomorrow (Thursday 7th). I turned in all of the appropriate paperwork. On Monday I emailed to confirm. Profusely thanked them again for getting us in. I took off of work to make the time work. I emailed several times to confirm. 5:30 night before I was given an email to say they don’t take her insurance and they canceled her appointment. No phone call. No courtesy of a heads up. Just an email to say sorry we NOW can’t help you and we would be placed on waitlist again until they take my insurance. No one asked me if I wanted to pay for it. I didn’t even count on insurance. I am so desperate for care and they failed us. Night before no less. They had my insurance for weeks. My daughter feels so let down. Let down by her father who hasn’t had her to his home in over 18 months now. Let down by catholic charities who opened a spot to get her help than rudely bailed on a high risk teenager. GREAT JOB catholic charities. Just hope it won’t be another 18 months for me to find someone to help us!
