So much to see at this park! The historic area has battlements from the WW II era. Lots of trails, plenty of beach access and the remains of a shipwreck. Could easily spend a whole day here. Well worth the $5 parking fee!

Fort Stevens is a great place for the camping trip, possibly for a couple or the entire family. The grounds are well kept and always clean, camp hosts are plentiful so if you need anything simply find a camp host and they should be able to fulfill your needs. With plenty of biking trails, hiking trails and entertainment, fort Stevens is the Pinnacle of camping in the Northern Oregon coast. Don't forget to bring your RC crawlers.

From winter storms to summer days, the jetty and beach are beautiful. There is always something new to discover. The views can be stunning, and the water is always magnificent. A January stroll with differing views of Saddle Mt. and razor clam diggers to boot. If you like the program "Alone," you may recognize the Keyhole Limpets.

This area is great for all ages! I was delighted to see so many trails and places to visit in the park. We visited after Christmas and were staying at a hotel in Astoria. It was very cold, but walking on frozen sand was much easier. Lol. There were very few people around, so that was a plus too! Be sure to visit the shipwreck, South Jetty, Wildlife Viewing Bunker/Beach, and Ft Stevensand visitor Center/museum. And watch for wildlife!

No you do not, but if you want to see the Lewis and Clark museum you do need a discovery pass or pay to go in, it is worth it.

Yes it is better to do so. The ranger station is only manned from 9-11 am. Not high occupancy for Feb, so camping may be ok. But rentals for cabins and yurts reservations are required.
